I recently acquired my second of these fine knives , a 14" chef's knife, through The Texas Pepper Jelly Store (they are now a distributor of them,) and I must say, the only two knives I am using anymore are the 14" granton Messermeister slicer for brisket, and the 14" chef's for ribs. This is the best damn rib knife I have seen! cuts right through everything very clean. In fact, when it fell off on my prep table last Saturday and I tried to catch it, it cut right through the tip of my right middle finger!! Luckily, most of the cook was done, but I had to wrap it tight enough to cut off the circulation because that was the only way to stop the bleeding! It hurt so bad, that I tried to change the dressing when I got home. I couldn't get it to stop bleeding this time so I had to go get it glued shut at the ER!!!! I can attest, that these are VERY SHARP KNIVES!!!!!! Be careful!! Woodman

Sounds more like a suck up to Texana to me. BUT, there is no doubt in my military mind that it is the truth, as Woodman will only tell the truth, or parts of the truth with a little info added in at some places.
I would think that by the name, they are /should be made in The Fatherland and will/should be first quality; and Texana knows this or he would not be selling them.

Woody,
Thanks for the good word about Messermeister. These are great knives out of Solingen Germany.
All forum members. Since everyone does not know this I will say it here for all to hear. I have always tried to give the best deals possible to our forum members. So take a look at the knives on our website and do not let the price scare you away. If you find something you like send me a pm and if I can do better for a forum brother I will.
Now as to the rumor I always suspected but I think Woodrow confirmed ... him and Bucky are true brothers ... there only two people I have sold Messermeister's to and both have nearly cut their damn fingers off !! I guess it is in the blood ....

Would that be the Park Plaza model. I don't see any 14" knives other than that. :?

No the Four Seasons 12" is what he has .. or at least that is what I remembered sending him ... I think he has knife envy ... wanting everything to be longer than it actually is ... Not that the sheep have complained or anything ....

How does that compare to the 14" Park Plaza? The 14" PP is the one I've been thinking about picking up.

Well ... let me clear up some confusion ... are we talking Chef's or Slicers .... I sent Woody a 12" Chefs ... he might actually have a 14" slicer ... not sure since I did not sell it to him.
If your talking slicer I would highly suggest a 12" ... 14" is a lot of blade and I mean a lot ... the PP is a full tang stamped blade. It is a great knife and a step up from the 3/4 tang on the FF

Sorry, I was talking about a slicer...

I guess it is the 12" Chef's. You told me that it would say on the side ,and the only number I saw was a 14. Whatever it is it is a GREAT rib knife. I was using a 14" Forschner Granton cimitar but the subtly curved blade on this knife blows it away!
ps. I do have a 14" slicer as well.

Send me all the numbers on the side under the logo ... I can then tell you exactly what it is...

I think it is the 12" on this page
http://www.texaspepperjelly.com/fourseasonsuc.htm
it does have a # 14 on the side but that may refer to steel grade.

The mosquitos around here are as big as the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz. Don't think there is a knife made that can take one of those bad boys out. :D :D

Well i had no idea there were mosquitos in Texas,i remember BigasTexas "i almost made a typo" posting about all the flies and thinking that flies are nothing compared to our annoying mosquitos, now if they as big as everything else in Texas than must seem like a helicopter landing in your ear..

Hey Woody..think this is the first I heard of your unfortunant accident with the knife. Condolences and glad to see it back to normal as we speak. Sounds like a good lawsuit potential on this one..unsafe packing..nearly destroying the carrer of a budding country music geetar/banjo player etc. Knife was obviously way to sharp. Be like that 9 million dollar deal as the lady who spilt the hot coffee from Mickey D's on her hootus area. Want me to PM you with some info on a good lawyer? Or you pick your own out the jello pages. Just make sure he got a Jewish sounding name and you be ok. It takes a Jewish person to make a good doctor or lawyer. That prob why your finger got well so quick..musta had a Jewish doctor. Just guessing of course.

Never saw an actual "doctor" Wheeler! Only nurses and "physicians assistants." My law firm is Goldberg, Fienstein, Schwartz, Finklestein, and Farb. I think I got it covered! They told me that they love going after "German" companies!!!

Apparantly, the lawyers already got ahold of someone on this sort of deal. I bought a hatchet from Home Depot not too long ago, and that thing was about as sharp as my foot.

: Hah! Woodman, you know more about BBQ pits and cooking than I could ever hope to know. I hope you can spend some time at Q-fest teaching me the tricks of the trade so I can be a better man. Your servant, Ritchie!twisted:
Come on Ritch, you are embarrasing me and really calling your own sexuality into quoestion. WM
