I use their brands a lot. Very high quality products. Their country gravy mix is almost as good as my own.

Tone's is way way way too salty for most purposes. Try Better than Bullion from Kroger or Minor's if you got wholesale privliges. I been mixing the better than bullion with black coffee till it sorta tastes like beef broth. Makes a helluva brisket sop. Aint sure about that frog eating frenchie au jus jus deal but sure it bound to be similar to the brisket sop.

You're probably right. I only use it for soups and stews where I want to increase the beaf flavor. By that time there's a lot of things in the pot, and I never season until the end anyway.
I'm about the same way on that awe shux or what ever it is, as I am on sauce in BBQ. I want to taste the meat. Now I do use ****tail sauce on shrimp and tartar sauce on fish, but I'm not a seafood person, and to me, it needs all the help it can get.
Like I tell them at the steakhouse, when I do eat out and they ask if I want steak sauce. I tell them that with the prices they charge, I hope to hell I don't need it.

Well I plead guilty on the red sauce for fish myself. Sometimes I just drink it..tartar sauce too. Do urge you to give the Better than Bullion and Minor's a try. I think you will chunk rocks at Tone's if you ever give em a comparison. Now you ever want to whup up a good Gumbo? Try Minor's Shrimp base instead of water. Wowser it will flat blow Aunt Myrtel's dress up plumb over her haid:) They sell it mailorder if you aint got no chums in the food/restaurant bizness who can get it for ya. They have a base for everything. Like the professional Chef tole me one time whut he had learnt at cooking school. "a good chicken base should taste like a chicken just run through it"...swear with the Minor's Chicken base if you use it too heavy you will start belching and pharting and it smell like chicken feathers. Now kindly dont axe me how I know this:)

Tell her it's just good old fashioned Firehouse cookin'
I was in a house where we normally cooked for 30 people at a shift, between the on-duty personnel, the PD, and the walk-ins...
