Just curiuos .. the stuff is so cheap why wouldn't you just buy it instead of copying it ???

They have it at Costco 2 big bottles for the price of 1 in the grocery store. Also, there is a sauce out here called Chakas MMM Sauce. Have you guys heard of it? It's good for marinating tri-tip and chicken.
Here is the home site. Just wondering how far east it goes.

Agreed and it may be cheaper to buy, however the satisfaction of making it and bragging about it is also fun.

Life is too short to make homemade BBQ sauce if you have found a commercial brand you like. This from a guy that loves to cook, just sayin...

Well best of fortunes on the cloning quest. When you get it figgered out might I suggest next challenge be trying to clone some Texas Rib Ranger's Spicy? I give a smart person 10 bucks for that recipe.

Brother Redneck, I am with you on that one. Man, I tried that stuff and it was like some poured powdered sugar down my throat. My wife wouldn't even eat the ribs. I can't handle that thick sweet stuff on anything. Lot of folks love it and it is probably highly used in KCBS comps. Them folks like it sweet and loaded with sauce. Just personal taste, however.

I have used SBR in some capacities in mixing with other sauces as experimental sauces to brush on things. It is very thick, and VERY VERY sweet. I prefer a more vinegar base...but for the back yard some people love that stuff!!
