That RK250 was a very efficient cooker. Once up to temp it didn't take a very big fire to maintain. Reverse flow plate(s) are adjustable - at least when I had mine.

Be sure to post up pics when it arrives.

I will post pics as soon I pick it up! Am hoping to take delivery before the 4th of July. ANYthing more you can share would be GREATLY appreciated! Seasoning, grease drain and clean up, towing, etc....

and am clueless...why would you adjust the plates??

Unless they've changed the design in the last three years, the reverse flow plates are two sheets that can slide and overlap each other. This allows you create different zones if needed - hotter for chicken and lower for other meats. Likely, you'll want to first learn the pit with everything in place but it's nice to have options.

I preferred to line the reverse plates with foil for easier clean up - a bit of a pain but I felt it was worth it. I didn't tow mine very far since they're made in the same county I live in and it was really a backyard pit - but it towed easy during the trip home.

Did you get any upgrades???? Gas assist, stainless shelf, etc.????

It's a lot of pit for the money. The real go-to guy on the forum is SmokeandBeans - he's had one for years and fills it up regularly.
