Default New York Strip - Roast

Anyone ever bbq'ed a New York Strip Roast? I was wondering how it would be.

Never tried Qing one, I just buy whole Strips and slice them into 1 1/2" steaks.

I got a place in Dayton that will put them on sale for 2.99lb. Can't beat that. Normally a NY Strip steak will run around $6 lb.

Boy thats a tough one I would sliceit into steaks and grill em at high heat. Lets us know how this one turns out.

I only know one BBQ'r who BBQ's NY sirloin roast ,firstly i marinate that cut with,,, ops: i meant he marinates that NYorkie with Lee Kum Kee Black bean n garlic sauce for 6 hours+,smokes it low and really slow after slapping off the beans n garlic with red oak till reaches 135 degrees, then he crisps it up over a charcoal fire,while sprinkling it with TBBQ rub brisket blend.

I BBQed a ribeye for about 6 hours once at around 200. I put a smoke ring on it. It was damn good. Just had magic and worcheshrie sauce on it.


NY Strip should pretty much teh same thing.
