Ritch is a pretty good guy. I would recommend his pits to anyone. Fine workmanship. I hear Helen does most of the work around there though.

I'm wondering (and will write to him to find out), but do you know if he does projects for restaurants? Like building an inplace smoker for the restaurant?

I still gonna get mees a truck and uh hitch and uh gator, but I needs to see if Ritch will do custom construction in a restaurant.

I love my Gator Pit. I've purchased two Gator Pits from Ritch already. I sold my first pit the Entertainer and then upgrade to a Excelerator. It is very similar to Ritch's Renegade just without the upright. It's my baby and no regrets. If I have to buy another pit it will be Helen's Scorpion. It is a true competion pit and great weekend cooker.

Here is a picture of my pit at a KCBS cook off.

Man I cannot wait to get me a gator. Before I joined the forums out here I was just doing research on pits, and the gators were the ones that stood out to me the most.

So if that means anything - just know that a novice without prompting looked at your pits, and thought to themselves "that is the one I want when I finally buy one".

Dems is darn good pits!

I guess they're alright but no better than my long island pit which is cooking along nicely in the high 20's low 30's temps we are having today

Gator Pit is a true custom pit builder. If you can dream it, they can build it. Call Ritch and let him know what you are looking to buy.

I was fortunate enough to get one of Gator pit's early model Budget Backyard Classic cookers, cooks like a dream, and easy to transport from place to place.

Liked cooking on it so much I upgraded to his "Deluxe" model so I could do cooks for my neighbors, or larger groups and have plenty of room for the larger cuts of meat. Wouldn't trade it for anything, not even a case of Mad Dog 20/20 or Nyquil Blue...
