Jambo pits?

So what is the story on these smokers? anyone ever use one? they sure are purrrty on the TLC show and just wanted to know if any of you have had any hands-on with these smokers

Ronnie and Michelle Wade( Mw is a member here) have one..They've won numerous grand championships with it, so I'm guessing it works purdy good.

Google Jambo pits and you'll see that Jamie Geer has a very strong following amongst the competition crowds..His pits are the finest looking pits on the market that's fer sure..

Ronnie and Michelle were winning before they had the Jambo pit. They are really nice pits though and some swear by them. Wish I could weld that purdy.

Those Wades' win using a garbage can. I'd say most of the Geers in use are owned and parked here in Central Texas.

True, but what I was trying to say is if Jambo pits didn't work all that great Ronnie and Michelle wouldn't have bought one. The Wades are a very respected team and l bet they cook use and win with a garbage can as txpgapro mentioned.

Yes yes agreed, just wanted to reiterate that its the cook not the cooker than makes great food and or wins contests.

Also a good pit helps no doubt and Jambos are one of the best. I think Johnny Triggs pit is also a Jambo.

I had the privilege of going to Jamies shop before Christmas and looking at pits in production the quality is second to none and I have been around his pit and seen them in action I still can't believe the ease they are to use. I have not seen to many offset pits that can go from 225 to 275 in a matter of few minutes like five at the most just by adjusting the exhaust damper.

They also use very little fuel

and the Team of the year in KCBS uses a Geer pit along with several other very very good Q'ers.

And yes you need to have Q skills in order to win but it also does make it easier So until I getter better Q skill I'll just be drooling over them

You'd be wrong! I know of 2 in Arkansas, 1 in Massachusetts, 1 in Illinois, 2 in Ohio, 1 in Alabama and I'm certain I've missed a few states. Jamie has been real busy since starting this full time.
