Lightbulb Offset vs vertical smoker

Offset vs vertical smoker ?
What do you guys prefer and why ?
I have a bradley electric smoker, and I was thinking of going with budget Gator pit. How does offset smoker compares to Vertical smoker, are there any benefits for using one over the other, besides space ?

My opinion...

I have a Gator offset and love it! (A backyard Entertainer)
I prefer to have the horizontal chamber WITH an upright.
It's a cooking machine, and I would prefer it to a "vertical smoker".
Now, that being said, I have never cooked in a vertical smoker only.

I think it is simply personal preference. My only opinion on your question is I believe there is some difference between cooking with electric vs. fire. Kinda similar to the gas grill vs. charcoal grill issue. While both turn out an excellent product I think there is some variation with the flavor. Comes back to personal preference. I personally like cooking with fire, outdoors, with beer in hand, and since it takes longer you can consume more liquid appetizers.

Uprite smokers such as Backwoods, Stumps, etc are a great cooking option. Much less hands on work than cooking on a horizontal and usually easier to cook for small-medium sized groups. So I vote for the Vertical option under these conditions. Large group cooking would favor the Horizontal cooker. It's just more efficient.
