Default Pitmaker Vault

Anyone know anything about a Pitmaker "Vault" verticle insulated smoker. Weblink is pitmaker.com. I am in the market for purchasing a verticle insulated smoker and just looking out there for what is available. So far I have looked at Pitmaker, Stumps, Gator, Backwoods and Spicewine. Are there more manufactures out there that I should look at? I will pay for quality, and when I look at quality, I also consider the weight of the smoker. Usually the heavier, the better.

Better look at a Gator Pit Rebel. It's 1000 lbs, insulated, and holds a lot of meat.

Default BBQ Vault

My name is John Cisneros with the Pit Bull cookers and I have been using the BBQ Vault for over a year. Its an awesome pit, very efficient, and it works great. The Proof: I have won 3 Grand Champions BBQ Cook-offs on it in the past six months cooking on a BBQ Vault (two of them over a hundred teams).

It goes without saying the pit doesn't make a great BBQ cook, but a well designed pit makes it easier (less work), to cook good bbq, and it can help you produce more consistent results.

I have seen a vault in action. Excellent to say the least. With a few lbs of charcoal and a few logs I saw it cook at 250 for about 8 hours. Built solid and a great unit. Wish I could afford one.

Not that I want to sell mine but I hope they hold their value and Ron gets all his money back.
